RCT3 also has a 'coaster cam' so you can 'ride' the rides and see what it's like from the POV of your guests, which is both fun and useful when designing rides. But it's still fun, and platinum edition also includes water park rides, which I really love. I bought 3 recently, and the style is different - it's 3d, and so far (I haven't played much) the scenarios don't seem quite as in-depth or challenging, while the gameplay can be frustrating - getting the ground completely level to build on, for example. Think Sim City 2 or Civ II in terms of graphics and gameplay. 2 seems more economic-based, with a lot of scenarios (you have a certain amount of time to meet certain goals). I bought 2 first after googling this same question - a lot of reviewers seem to prefer 2, but I think a lot of that is just because of the nostalgia factor, because 3 is quite different from 2.
